ATHLETE'S - 12/24 hours of XC-skiing
Competition office: Biathlon Building, Canmore Nordic Centre
Registration: Athletes for the 12/24 hrs races can register through the contact page and send a check (payable to Canmore Ski Fest) to the race office at PO Box 8463, Canmore, AB, T1W 2V2. Registration fee will increase by $20 per person starting February 1st, 2012.
Registration deadline: March 20th, 2012. Last minute registrations up to 25th: please fill out the contact form.
KIDS FUN RACE: 1) 300m race for 2-3 years old
2) 500m for 4-5 years old and 24 min for 6 up.
The children can register at the race day and the start fee would be $5.00.
Every participant would receive small gad of goodies.
Kid's race will start on Saturday at 2:00 and registration will open at 1:00 pm in the Biathlon Stadium
Race Course: Approximately 3km lit loop at the CNC; Start and Finish area on the Biathlon stadium.
Parking: Free of charge on any of the available CNC parking lots. Parking and traffic could be directed by designated parking marshals.
Food / Drinks: During the race, athletes will have access to snacks and drinks at the aid station. We will have a food stand on site and you can also buy food and drinks at the Day
Lodge: All athletes will receive a free banquet ticket for a post-race meal.
Rest / Recovery: Solo athletes will have access to a warm-up room in close proximity to the start-finish area.
All teams will need to prepare their own warm-up and resting strategies. It is recommended that teams will book for their members one of the wax cabins in close proximity to the race course. You can inquire at CNC front desk, call 403 678 2400.
Waxing: Athletes are responsible for waxing of their own skis. There will be two public wax rooms available during the competition in close proximity to the race trail. Skiers will also have the option to sign up with one of our experienced wax-techs to have their skis waxed for a nominal fee.
Massage: Professional massage therapist will be available on site to provide sports and therapeutic massage for a nominal fee.
First aid / Medical support: There will be a first aid personnel present on the site at all times during the competition. The first aid station is situated at the bottom of the Biathlon Building.
Start Package: Every athlete will receive a race package, which will include a start number, specifically designed T-shirt (please, indicate required size on your registration form), Canmore Nordic Centre Ski passes for both days, Banquet ticket, $5.00 Gift certificate for services at the Wildflower Massage & Esthetics and more.
Athletes can purchase additional banquet tickets ($25.00 each) for their family members and friends.
Start fee will also cover facility rental expenses, race insurance and additional charges for online registration.
