Canmore Ski Fest 2012 * 12/24 hours of XC-skiing

Thank you, Participants!

Canmore Ski Fest 2012In the name of the Canmore Ski Fest 2012 organizing committee, I would like to congratulate all participants for their courage to sign up for this challenging event and for the bravery, with which they have been skiing around the Canmore Nordic Centre on March 24th and 25th, 2012.

We didn't break the World record in 24 hrs Distance Nordic skiing yet, but several athletes were in hot pursuit of the standing record in both men's and women's category for most of the night. At the same time, we have set new category records for both 24 hrs Solo Men and Women, as well as for the 12 hrs relay team of two.

The future generation of competitive skiers and adventure racers has found a lot of excitement during the Kid's Fun race on Saturday afternoon, followed by an exercise in Dan Sparks' bouncy castle and balloon animal reward, courtesy of Crazy Larry.

We would like to thank all the sponsors and volunteers as listed to the right; without your help it wouldn't be possible!

Special Thank you goes also to the Canmore Nordic Centre staff, who were taking exceptional care of our race. Trails were groomed to the highest standards as usual and we have been given everything else as needed.

We are pleased to announce, that thanks to several sponsorship donations, we will be supporting MitoCanada with a $1,000 from this year's proceeds. Some of the athletes have been able to rise additional money for this organization thanks to this event, congratulations and thank you for joining us in our effort!

We are already thinking about the 2013 edition, which will include few changes to make the race really accessible to everyone. Please, mark the tentative date of March 23-24, 2013 into your calendars and stay tuned for more information coming soon!
